Are the rake tynes spring steel?

The material we use for our tines is called screen wire. This material is used in the mining industry and very tough with high abrasion resistance.

Screen wire is a high carbon steel with similar material properties to spring steel but performs better when welded.

This means we can weld our tynes in without any issues of the material cracking.

Do the tynes bend if I hit a root or a rock?

The geometry of the rake tynes allows you to rake over immovable objects like roots and rocks.

The tynes well stretch open when they contact the object and allow the rake to ramp up and over the obstacle. After the rake is past the object the tynes return to their original shape.
